Rizzolo www.researchitaly.us I am a Southerner myself but I don't quite understand your initiative. Culturally Southern Italy is grasping its own culture well in its hands. I will mention the case of Matera which is enlisted into UNESCO World Heritage List since 1993. I wrote myself an article on it and I invite you to have a reading http://tymbaryon.free.fr/sassiofmatera.html I have to agree with you on one point: unfortunately not many people know very well their own history. Once in Paris, I met a Sicilian woman who did not have the slightest idea about Frederick II, one of the greatest if not the greatest King the South have ever had and she showed a great sense of cultural inferiority. However I can't blame her. This kind of ignorance is quite common. I call it cultural oblivion and certainly rediscovering our origins helps us to understand our identity and being proud of who we are.
