Acacia and Microsoft settle litigation Not really. One of the Vole's shell companies pretended to sue its parent, in order to support the illusion that its not a shell company. After a quick round of play-fighting, they kissed and made up, so now Acacia can resume its activities as a proxy to attack Microsoft's enemies (e.g. using subsidiaries like IP Innovation, LLC. to attack Red Hat), and Acacia now has a conveniently prefabricated excuse to dismiss any evidence that might show any conspiracy between the two companies. Is there anyone out there naive enough to believe otherwise?

Verily I say unto thee, that Roy Schestowitz spake thusly: Acacia and Microsoft settle litigation Not really. Is there anyone out there naive enough to believe otherwise? The sole evidence of a conspiracy is that one lawyer and one manager who used to work at Microsoft took jobs at Acacia, around the time Acacia sued Red Hat. Since the lawsuit was in the works at least a year before that, and probably two, and at the time Acacia was actively pursuing a lawsuit against Microsoft (asking for nearly a billion dollars), no one but you and Roy and the rest of the tin-foil hat crowd believe that was anything more than coincidence. It's funny how you conspiracy people never bother to stop and think. Let's say Microsoft was secretly controlling Acacia, using it to sue Red Hat, cleverly having Acacia sue Microsoft to try to misdirect people. Since doing this would be seriously illegal (Microsoft is a public company), they would have to be so good at the deception that they not only fool the public, put also fool the outside lawyers (and many other people

Verily I say unto thee, that Roy Schestowitz spake thusly: Acacia and Microsoft settle litigation You conspiracy nuts always require the bad guys to be both fiendishly brilliant, and at the same time overlook the most obvious things. They're just ridiculous bozos typing cheap words on cheap keyboards and sending them to a backwater newsgroup.  If they had any stake in the game at all - if they faced real-life repercussions for making their idiotic claims - all of them would clam up.
